Dick Vitale names his top schools as the season gets underway

Whoa.

Dick Vitale is gearing up for another season of college hoops and he's giving us his "Super Seven" teams to start the season. He's got all the heavy hitters and even a mid-major to round things out nicely. Here is his list in order:

  1. Duke
  2. Arizona
  3. Michigan State
  4. Kentucky
  5. Kansas
  6. Louisville
  7. Wichita State

Those first three teams all have superb five-star freshmen on campus, but also feature some upperclassmen to help get them through the rough patches of the season. Kentucky may have a ton of talent, but the Wildcats are also one of the youngest teams in the country so they could struggle to start the season.

This year's Kansas team is another guard-heavy and guard-centric team that coach Bill Self has trotted out the past few years. Devonte' Graham is a preseason All-American and is the unquestioned leader of this team that is poised to win its 14th consecutive Big 12 title. Wichita State is also challenging to be the best team in the state of Kansas though as they transition conferences to the AAC.
