Five-star recruit Jontay Porter makes huge decision on his recruitment and basketball future

This is fantastic for one school.

Jontay Porter is one of the most coveted recruits in the class of 2018 as he's rated a five-star power forward and the No. 10 overall recruit in the country by ESPN. However, there had been talks about him reclassifying to join his brother Michael Porter Jr. at Missouri so they could play another year together before the older Porter presumably goes to the NBA after his lone season in college.

It looks like that dream is becoming a reality as he told CBS Sports that he does plan on reclassifying.

From CBS Sports:

The assumption for a while has been that Class of 2018 star Jontay Porter will reclassify and enroll at Mizzou soon so that he can play alongside his brother, Michael Porter Jr., this season.

So I asked Jontay if that's a safe assumption.

"Yeah, for sure," he answered with a smile at the Nike Peach Jam event here on the Georgia-South Carolina border. "That's a safe assumption."

So it looks like Missouri could end up with the top recruiting class if that comes true and he does join the Tigers. They are No. 7 on the ESPN list of classes, but adding another five-star player would have to move them up into the top five at the very least if not into the top three.

Here are some of his highlights:
