Kentucky is going hard at this top ten recruit for 2017

And the Wildcats won't be the only ones.

Kentucky is targeting 6'11", 250-pound center Nick Richards in the class of 2017. That shouldn't be surprising considering the top talent coach John Calipari goes after in every recruiting class. However, Richards comes from talent-rich St. Patrick's High School that also produced the likes of Kyrie Irving and former UK players in Dakari Johnson and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist.

Richards is the No. 8 player in ESPN's rankings and is the No. 3 center in the class. Calipari has visited Richards twice this year at Patrick's and to show how much Kentucky likes this kid, coach Cal has done a ton of in-person visits it seems.

"Cal's probably done more in-person visits than anyone else with Nick," St. Pat's coach Chris Chavannes said of the Kentucky coach Wednesday on The 4 Quarters Podcast by Adam Zagoria.

Right now there's no timetable on when he will make his decision, but he is expected to drop a list some time after the Nike Peach Jam in July. He will consult with his family before making any choices and he will certainly have his pick of school as Kansas, UNC and others have offered him a scholarship.
