North Carolina suffers significant hit to backcourt with latest injury news

This is not ideal.

North Carolina Tar Heels point guard Seventh Woods will miss at least four weeks as he recovers from a stress fracture in his right foot, head coach Roy Williams said Monday on his radio show.

"He's going to be out quite a while," Williams said. "We have no idea. We'll have to wait and see how it looks. I know he'll be out for four weeks. He may even be on crutches for four weeks."

It was reported last week that Woods suffered a foot injury and would be out for a while. The team didn't quite know yet how long he'd miss as they were still gathering more information on the injury, but Williams confirmed on Monday that it'll be at least another four weeks before he could return.

The sophomore is averaging 2.4 points, 1.7 assists and 1.4 rebounds in 11 minutes per game this season as the team's backup. The Tar Heels (9-1) will travel to Knoxville on Sunday to play No. 20 Tennessee.
