North Carolina escapes with its first ACC win of the season thanks to Joel Berry

Unbelievable.

North Carolina was not playing one of its better games against an inferior Wake Forest team on Saturday, but came out with a 73-69 win thanks to some timely heroics from senior point guard Joel Berry. With less than 15 seconds left in the game, he drove into the paint and hit one of the most difficult floaters of the day to put his team up 71-69 with just under 10 seconds left.

Berry finished with 16 points, two assists and two steals for the day while the team shot under 40 percent from the floor and under 32 percent from beyond the arc. Wake only had seven turnovers on the day and forced UNC into 12 of their own, but it wasn't enough to overcome their 50 percent shooting from the free throw line.
