One team only had six scholarship players available and still found a way to win

That's darn near impossible to do.

UConn basketball is not having a great year with only an 8-11 record to boast about, but the Huskies got a literal and moral victory against East Carolina on Sunday. The Huskies only had six scholarship players available because of injuries and still pulled out a 72-65 win.

Kentan Facey, Vance Jackson, Amida Brimah, Rodney Purvis, Jalen Adams and Christian Vital were the six players who played real minutes —- with several bench warmers and walk-ons getting a minute when victory was in hand at the end. All five of the starters played 30 minutes or more and Adams was the leading scorer with 19 points.

UConn was winning 38-28 at halftime and never let the lead get to less than seven in the second half. It's hard enough to win games with a full squad, but to do it with only six scholarship athletes is even more impressive.
