21-year-old college RB arrested on rape charges for the second time

For a second time?

According to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's office, a college running back has been arrested on rape charges for a second time in three years.

Per the report, 21-year-old running back Kishawn Holmes was booked on Feb. 22 and later charged with two counts of rape. His current bail has been set at $2,000,000.

Holmes' school, Cerritos College, released this statement to FanBuzz:

These allegations are unsettling and alarming. Although this incident did not occur here on campus, the College does not take this matter lightly. We will continue to work closely with the L.A. County Sheriff's Department as it investigates the case, and the College is conducting its own Title IX investigation.

The College confirmed that Holmes has exhausted his eligibility with the school.

This isn't the first time that Holmes has been brought up on rape charges. According to a KTLA 5 report, Holmes faced rape charges three years ago. Holmes, 17 at the time, pleaded guilty to a rape by force charge, and was sentenced to "one year in custody and made a ward of the court".

Holmes was a three-star recruit when he was originally in high school. His college, Cerritos, has been a fixture for several pro sports alumni, including T.J. Houshmandzadeh, Joe Gibbs and Jim Zorn.
