5-star, No. 1 safety in the country B.J. Foster stays close to home with monster commitment

What a get!

The Texas Longhorns are on a recruiting roll.

A day after 4-star ILB Ayodele Adeoye  committed to the Horns, Texas has now picked up 5-star safety B.J. Foster.

Foster was sought after by just about every top team, and no wonder. He's a 6-foot-1, 188 pounder who's the No. 1 rated safety in the class of 2018; the No. 2 rated player in all of Texas; and the No. 16 rated prospect nationally, according to 247Sports.

It's no wonder the likes of Alabama, Ohio State, Florida, Notre Dame and Oklahoma extended offers.

In the end, Foster, from Angelton (Texas) High, decided to stay in his home state.

That makes Teaxas' 12th 2018 recruit, and the seventh  ranked in the top 150 nationally, according to 247Sports. All of a sudden, Tom Herman and his staff look like they're putting Texas back on the map, and fast. 247Sports now has Texas listed as having the sfourth-best recruiting class in 2018, behind only Miami (1), Ohio State (2), and Penn State (3).
