Five-star kicker B.T. Potter announces commitment to title contender

Hard to turn down an offer from this team.

Having a good kicker is important for any contending team, and it looks like one school locked down their kicker of the future here.

On Wednesday, five-star kicker B.T. Potter announced that he had committed to Clemson.

"After sitting down and talking with my family, I have decided to commit to play at Clemson University," Potter said on his Twitter. "This has been a dream of mine for as long as I can remember, and I'm so thankful to have the opportunity to do so."

Clemson gave Potter an offer on Wednesday, and it looks like it didn't take long for him to make up his mind. Scholarship offers are already hard enough to come by for special teamers, so it's easy to understand why there was no hesitation when an offer came in from the defending national champions.

Potter is rated as five-star by the Kohl's kicking service and as the No. 6 kicker overall for the 2018 recruiting class. His high rating comes from his power, with a career-high 49-yard field goal with his high school on his resume to go along with 95 touchbacks out of 105 kickoffs last season.

With Potter on board, Clemson now has nine commitments for their 2018 class. They are currently ranked 11th in the nation by 247Sports.
