Latest mock draft has a team potentially replacing six-time Pro Bowler with Deshaun Watson

This is not the team people thought would draft Deshaun Watson.

Daniel Jeremiah has updated his latest mock draft and he has an interesting team taking Deshaun Watson now. At one point people had the San Francisco 49ers taking him at No. 2 and some had him going later in the round to the Buffalo Bills or even to the Browns at No. 12. However, Jeremiah now has the Los Angeles Chargers —- formerly of San Diego fame —- taking Watson to potentially replace Philip Rivers.

The six-time Pro Bowler was the league's passing yards leader in 2010 and was the co-leader for touchdowns in 2008. He has over 300 touchdowns, 45,000 passing yards and 3,8000 completions. Watson would have some huge shoes to fill, but not for at least a couple years and that's what Jeremiah is counting on.

The Chargers start preparing for life after Philip Rivers by selecting Watson. He's not ready to play right away but he'll have time to sit and learn behind one of the best in the business.

And hopefully by the time Watson is ready to take over he will have some options in the receiving corps that won't fall apart and can help him become the QB everyone thinks he can be. The Chargers have the No. 7 pick in the upcoming draft and may also consider using it on secondary help, an outside linebacker or a wide receiver considering their bad injury luck at the position.
