N.C. State coach basically applauded head injury to Clemson running back

This guy is no role model.

North Carolina State head coach Dave Doeren was on his weekly coaches show and made a pretty disturbing comment. He was talking about the game against Clemson two weeks ago and tried to give some positives about the 24-17 overtime loss.

He could have mentioned that the Wolfpack took the No. 3 team in the country to overtime, but instead he got a little too excited about knocking out running back Wayne Gallman from the game.

"Yeah we did, you know, I mean we knocked their tailback out of the game," Doeren said.

There are some guys who think the hit was dirty and Gallman has said that he thought the hit was dirty from cornerback Dravious Wright. Gallman's head snapped back on the hit and he was knocked unconscious and held out of the game thereafter.

A North Carolina State official reached out to TigerNet on Monday evening and shared the following about Doeren's comments towards Gallman's head injury.

"Coach Doeren's comments during his weekly television program were in the context of the overall physical play of the defense, as he also referenced having four takeaways, a pair of goal line stands and giving up just two plays of more than twenty yards," the official stated. "Coach [Doeren] has great respect for Wayne [Gallman] and publicly praised him leading into the game two weeks ago. We are glad Wayne is well and wish him and Clemson success the rest of the season."

Sounds like too little too late to me, but it's done now and Doeren has to live with his comments.
