Ronald Thompkins is considered an athlete by 247Sports with no solid position, but his best position is probably at running back. That's what he was told on his visit to Florida State back in February and it looks like that played a huge role in his commitment. The 2019 recruit made his announcement via his Twitter account:
Thompkins is rated as the No. 20 athlete in the country by 247Sports and the No. 17 recruit in the state of Georgia. He also held offers from Kentucky, Auburn and Florida among a few others that had gotten in on the action early. The 5'11", 185-pounder told 247Sports that it was actually the academic presentation that impressed him the most when they spoke back in February.
"The academic presentation they gave us," Thompkins said. "That really stood out to me more than anything today."
Running backs coach Jay Graham was the main recruiter for Thompkins so you can definitely expect a more defined position when Thompkins gets to Tallahassee.
