FSU star named ACC performer of the week

That's a good call.

Florida State basketball has been on a tear the past few weeks going 5-1 against six consecutive ranked teams. That has helped at least one player earn an individual award from the ACC and that's freshman and potential lottery pick Jonathan Isaac.

After averaging 19.5 points and 10 rebounds over two games against Notre Dame and Louisville last week, Isaac was named the ACC Freshman of the Week by the 15-member panel that decides the conference awards. He scored a career-high 23 points and had 10 rebounds to go with seven blocks against then-No. 16 Notre Dame. He also recorded a 16-point 10-rebound double-double to go with two assists and two blocks against Louisville. He also became the first FSU freshman to record three straight double-doubles in 22 seasons for the program.

The 6'10", 230-pound freshman is expected to go in the lottery for the NBA Draft this season and it's stretches like this that give him momentum he needs to make those predictions come true.
