Five-star WR Henry Ruggs has 'eye-opening' visit Bama recruiting rival

This is certainly interesting, right before his Alabama visit.

Henry Ruggs III is the top receiver in 247Sports' rankings and is believed to be an Alabama lean with their crystal ball projecting him at 100 percent to end up in Tuscaloosa. However, he just took a visit to Florida State and it sounds like it was definitely one of his better visits. Ruggs spoke with Drew Champlin of AL.com about the visit on Wednesday.

"It was a good visit, very eye-opening. I got a chance to hang out with the players and bond with them. If I do choose to go there, I'll have a relationship with them already."

The Seminole coaching staff has apparently done an effective job with both Ruggs and his family, who accompanied him on the visit. He was complimentary of the staff and their attention to his family and not just other recruits.

"One of the biggest things is that they keep in constant contact with me and my parents," Ruggs added to AL.com. "On my official visit, they could have spent a lot of time around other recruits, but I can say that (head) coach (Jimbo) Fisher and (assistant) coach (Lawrence) Dawsey spent a lot of time around me and my family."

Ruggs is the No. 11 receiver in the 247Sports composite rankings (combination of all other recruiting services), but the site has him as the top receiver in its own rankings. The 6'0", 175-pound receiver holds offers from FSU, Florida, Auburn, Louisville, Miami and Michigan among others. While the Crimson Tide might be the heavy favorites right now, it looks like the Seminoles have made a great impression on the young man.
