Noles247 is reporting that the injury was serious enough to warrant surgery and he even saw a specialist outside of the state. He allowed 15 of 20 passes in which he was targeted to be completed, according to Pro Football Focus so maybe it was his hip that was the deciding factor in the poor play or he could have been playing poorly before. It’s unclear when the hip injury flared up.

Lewis is expected to regain his starting spot with Marquez White graduating.
