FSU coach reportedly relieved of his duties ahead of bowl game

That is brutal.

Florida State has been suffering some coaching losses in the last couple weeks and it looks like they are losing another one ahead of the Independence Bowl. Receivers coach Lawrence Dawsey will reportedly join Randy Sanders and Rick Trickett as coaches who will not be with the team after this season, according to Warchant.

Warchant is reporting that he has been relieved of his duties, but that Dawsey also wants to remain with the team in some capacity. He has one more year on his contract that will pay him close to $500,000, but there is one stipulation where FSU might not be on the hook for it. Because former head coach Jimbo Fisher left for another job, he and/or Texas A&M will be responsible for that salary if Dawsey does not take another coaching position.

Dawsey came with Fisher to Tallahassee in 2007 and it rumored that Miami receivers coach Ron Dugans could take the FSU job now open.
