Rising contender suffers injury at crucial position of need

Hopefully this isn't serious.

The Miami Hurricanes had an injury scare Saturday afternoon as quarter Jack Allison suffered a should injury of some sort in the team's scrimmage.

Allison, a former four-star quarterback coming out of Palmetto, FL., was sacked in the scrimmage and landed on hard on his right shoulder.

Here is what  head coach Mark Richt had to say after the game via ESPN:

"Miami coach Mark Richt said he allowed defensive players to go after his quarterbacks, and he told reporters that there were "at least four to eight" sacks during the scrimmage. He did not mention Allison's injury to reporters but said he hopes that his team made it out of the scrimmage unscathed."

"I didn't see anybody get carted off, which is nice," Richt said. "I mean, I am so involved in calling the plays and just going. (Trainer) Vinny (Scavo) will hit me up and tell me what's up in the next day or two."

Allison is one of the many talented quarterbacks looking to replace longtime quarterback Brad Kaaya this season, but it doesn't appear Allison's injury will keep him out long.
