After controversial transfer restrictions are upheld, former Auburn DT Antwuan Jackson has found a surprising new school

One step back for a step forward.

Gus Malzahn isn't exactly looking great with regard to the Antwuan Jackson transfer situation. The now-former Auburn defensive tackle was reportedly blocked from transferring to any school on the Auburn schedule for 2017 and, beyond that, Malzahn and company added Ohio State to the blocked list. This did not go over well because there was buzz that Jackson could head to Columbus and, in the end, it is always the school that looks worse in this kind of battle.

With that said, Jackson's transfer destination is now reportedly known, as The Big Spur brings word that he is headed to Blinn Community College in Texas.

Jackson was an elite recruit in the Class of 2015 and things didn't go perfectly at Auburn. Still, he is a tremendous talent and the road is paved well from Auburn to Blinn Community College, albeit in the opposite direction, as Cam Newton once transferred from Blinn to join the Tigers.

It will be very interesting to see where Jackson ends up after spending what everyone expects to be a brief stint at the JuCo level. From there, he can pop back up to the SEC, Ohio State or elsewhere and no transfer restriction hearing (his appeal to overturn was denied) can stop him from choosing an ideal spot at that time. Stay tuned.
