First-time Power 5 coach could be making biggest recruiting mistake of his life

This seems like a bad idea.

Baylor's Matt Rhule is trying to rebuild a program that former coach Art Briles left in shambles. A major way to do that is through some serious recruiting and while Texas is a big state, it can't be the only place where he gets his talent from.

But it looks like Rhule has ruled out a major pipeline, as he says he has no plans to recruit high schools that take talent out of he state of Texas.

The obvious target there? IMG Academy.

IMG Academy brings in tons of talent from around the country and pretty much makes them available at one location. They constantly churn out five- and four-star recruits like a factory. To cut them off completely for the coaching staff is not only a travesty for these kids, but could turn out to be an unmitigated disaster for Rhule at Baylor.
