Four-star outside linebacker Nik Bonitto (6-foot-4, 204 pounds) announced his commitment to Oklahoma during the third quarter of the Under Armour All-American Game at Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Fla., on Thursday night.
“I’ve come to the conclusion that I want to spend the next three to four years at The University of Oklahoma,” Bonitto said. “You know, Coach [Lincoln] Riley’s really building something special over there, and just to be a part of that, it’s just a blessing in itself. And I can’t wait to be in Norman for the next three or four years.”
Riley responded to Bonitto’s commitment by tweeting a video welcoming him to the Sooner family shortly after his announcement.
Bonitto chose Oklahoma over arch rival Texas, Louisville and 25 other scholarship offers. He ranks as the No. 18 outside linebacker, No. 30 player from the state of Florida and the No. 207 overall prospect for the 2018 national recruiting cycle, according to the 247Sports Composite.
Oklahoma currently has 21 commitments, including 17 signees for its 2018 recruiting class, which ranks No. 9 overall, according to the 247Sports Team Composite rankings.
