It appears that Iowa State athletic director Jamie Pollard wasn't exactly thrilled with this entire expansion process by the Big 12.
In an interview with KXNO out of Des Moines, Pollard went after his own conference, with one notable statement sticking out: the conference... is kind of terrible.
"The Big 12 exists because we've got Texas and Oklahoma in the room," Pollard said in the interview. "If we take Texas and Oklahoma out of the room, we're the Mountain West Conference."
Ouch.

Pollard didn't stop there, as he blamed Oklahoma president David Boren for starting this whole ordeal for the Big 12. Pollard says that the athletic directors in the conference never wanted expansion, but Boren sparked the whole thing and made the conference look like a bunch of idiots after deciding not to expand.
The Big 12 will probably be fine after all of this, but for now, the conference looks like a bunch of idiots in the eyes of the fans. It looks like this AD is just making sure everyone knows exactly who the idiots are.
