Powerhouse reportedly on pace to have "best recruiting class" ever recorded

The best recruiting class... ever?

This would be quite the feat.

In assessing the 2018 recruiting cycle, 247Sports expert Steve Wiltfong referred to the current Ohio State class as "shaping up to be the best recruiting class on paper in the history" of the 247Sports rankings. Wiltfong says that the 2010 Florida class that featured Dominique Easley and Matt Elam currently holds that title.

The Buckeyes currently have 17 commitments for their 2018 class, four of which rank as five-star, with 11 of the remaining 13 holding a four-star ranking by the 247Sports Composite. Overall, Ohio State currently has the No. 1 class across all four major recruiting services, and things could only get better; several uncommitted five-stars — like Micah Parsons and Jackson Carman — have Ohio State among their top schools.

Ohio State finished No. 2 in recruiting last year, ranking only behind Alabama.
