4-star QB Artur Sitkowski shockingly flips from College Football Playoff contender to cellar dweller

One of the nation's top quarterbacks made a surprising college decision.

Four-star IMG Academy (Tampa, Fla.) quarterback Artur Sitkowski, who was previously committed to Miami, announced that he's flipped his pledge to Rutgers on Wednesday via Twitter.

Sitkowski currently ranks as the No. 5 pro-style quarterback and the No. 113 overall prospect for the 2018 national recruiting cycle, according to 247Sports Composite.

While it may seem like a surprising move for a four-star IMG prospect to flip from undefeated Miami to Rutgers, Sitkowski grew up in Old Bridge, New Jersey, a short drive from Rutgers, before transferring to the prep school prior to his senior season. He was also a priority recruit for the Scarlet Knights before committing to the Hurricanes in February.

Rutgers had a need for a second quarterback prospect in its 2018 recruiting class after three-star Sean Chambers decommitted in October. The Scarlet Knights already have a commitment from three-star quarterback Jalen Chatman.

Miami, however, now lacks a commitment from a quarterback prospect in its 2018 class and are expected to make the position a priority leading up to National Signing Day.
