Four-star QB Artur Sitkowski spurns hometown team for one closer to new HS

That's a little surprising.

Artur Sitkowski is originally from Old Bridge, N.J., but has decided to transfer to IMG Academy in Florida for his senior year of high school. The four-star pro-style quarterback is the No. 4 recruit in that category of QB according to 247Sports and the No. 18 recruit in the state of New Jersey. Sitkowski had said before that he wanted to make his decision in February or March of this year and he's officially done it:

The 6'5", 215-pound thrower had a strong relationship with the Rutgers staff —- he played 20 minutes from campus for his first three years in high school —- but he told Scout that Miami was the perfect fit for him.

"It just like it. It's the perfect place for me. It's where I can go (thrive) at. It's a great time to go. I wouldn't want to be at any other place. It's Miami."

Coach Mark Richt's experience with grooming quarterbacks also played a role according to Sitkowski:

"What he's done with quarterbacks and everything like that, what more can you ask for?" Sitkowski said. "He's put so many guys in the (NFL), I'm just exctied and ready to get to work."

247Sports predicted Sitkowski to land in Miami with 90 percent of the picks having him go there while Florida and Rutgers were given a five percent chance each. He has over 25 offers including others from Louisville, LSU, Maryland, Michigan and Ohio State among others.

Here are some of his highlights:
