FSU star defender doubtful for Orange Bowl return

That's disappointing.

Florida State fans were hoping to see safety Derwin James one more time this season after he suffered a nasty knee injury. He only played in two games this season and there was some hope that he would be available for a bowl game, but coach Jimbo Fisher is thinking that is not likely to happen.

Fisher spoke to the media on Sunday after he found out that his team would be heading to the Orange Bowl in Miami and the prognosis isn't good for James.

While that might not be great for the Seminoles right now or during the game, it's probably better for the next season to have him fully healthy. FSU could also apply for a medical redshirt in hopes of another season of eligibility for James if that's a concern for him.
