Florida secures surprising visit from current Michigan commit

Things are heating up in this recruitment.

American Heritage High School (Ft. Lauderdale, Florida) offensive tackle Kai-Leon Herbert originally had Florida, Miami and Michigan on his top three list of schools. The 6'5", 284-pound tackle just won a state championship on Friday night and told SEC Country that he is visiting the hometown Gators on Monday.

Two of his high school teammates are committed to Florida though and could help sway him to see the orange and blue way. Marco Wilson —- brother of Quincy Wilson —- and linebacker Justin Houston are the two who could get Herbert on the same page and he knows that.

"Their message is that they want me and need me at Florida," said Herbert.

Florida linebackers coach Randy Shannon conducted an in-home visit with Herbert on Monday. Shannon and offensive line coach Mike Summers are trying to sell the Under Armour All-American on early playing time. Herbert is ranked four stars and the No. 29 offensive tackle by 247Sports.
