Former Big Ten star and McDonald's All-American reportedly to spend a year in jail

Not a good look.

Keith Appling was a second team All-Big Ten selection in his senior year under coach Tom Izzo at Michigan State, but things have not gone well since then. Appling went undrafted in 2014 and has bounced around the D-League —- now G-League —- but it hasn't stopped him from getting in trouble with the law. He will now spend a year in jail because of an arrest that occurred last August.

He was arrested by police when he tossed a loaded firearm from his vehicle while attempting to avoid officers during a traffic stop. He had also been arrested in May 2016 and June 2016 before that August arrest.

Appling averaged 10.6 points, 1.1 steals, 3.3 assists and three rebounds over the course of his four-year career.
