Kirk Herbstreit names one team that has "top 5 potential" this year

How surprising would it be if they pulled this off?

Kirk Herbstreit is just like the rest of us in that he's very much ready for college football season to start. He tends to take questions or use comments directed at him to make some predictions and this weekend was no different. He was asked about his expectations for Penn State this season as they should be a solid-to-great team this season.

His response was pretty bold as he thinks the Nittany Lions should have a very good year even playing in the tough Big Ten:

While PSU does play a pretty soft schedule, the Nittany Lions still have to play Michigan (at home) and at Ohio State so those are two potential stumbling blocks they face before the season's end. Otherwise, they get to play the likes of Akron, Pittsburgh and Georgia State at home to start off the season. Their next toughest game is probably at Northwestern or at Michigan State.
