The rare offensive targeting flag was thrown against Ohio State’s Corey Smith, a wide receiver that peeled back for a big block on a Wisconsin defender. The targeting call was upheld by review, but caused plenty of controversy.
The Buckeyes are dominating the Badgers at the half, leading 38-0, so the outcome of the game won’t likely be effected in any way, but it is still questionable. It looks like he’s trying to lower the shoulder on the defender and the helmets collide incidentally. He turns his head at the end and doesn’t lead with the crown, so I don’t see it as targeting, but even after review he was ejected.
