Team bus catches fire on its way to Big Ten showdown

This could have been real scary.

Rutgers is having a pretty successful year by their usual standards at 4-5. However, the season took a turn for the scary on their way to the game against Penn State. On Friday, The Scarlett Knights' bus caught fire according to WBRE in Pennsylvania.

WBRE is reporting that the fire started in the back of the bus on Friday afternoon as the team was headed to State College. No players or coaches were hurt, but a police officer who arrived on the scene reportedly suffered minor injuries after a tire exploded in front of him. He was trying to put out the fire when it happened.

Fortunately, it seems not to have fazed Rutgers as the Scarlett Knights scored first on the Nittany Lions and are leading 3-0 with about two minutes left in the first quarter.
