Only two weeks in the regular season remain.
Week 12 has become a rather mediocre week in college football the past few years thanks to a lot of teams scheduling a cupcake ahead of a rivalry game. This week is no different, but there are plenty matchups that could cause chaos in college football?
Where will chaos happen this week?
No. 2 Ohio State
Nov. 19 vs Michigan State
In the words of Admiral Ackbar, it's a trap!
Everyone is talking about how Ohio State still needs to beat Michigan, how it's a must that they beat the Wolverines... next week. Michigan State gave Michigan a big scare a couple of weeks ago, and there is a good chance that the Spartans can do the same exact thing here.
Michigan State has nothing to lose at this point, while Ohio State legitimately has everything to lose. I still think the Buckeyes will win, but this could be a lot close than Ohio State wants it to be.
No. 10 Colorado
Nov. 19 vs. Washington State
This is less about Colorado's stature and more about what Washington State might actually be as a team. The Cougars after put together quite the run since two out-of-conferences losses to open the season, and they are currently in first place in the Pac-12 North.
Statistically, Colorado has one of the best pass defenses in the nation, but I think that could fall apart against Luke Falk and Washington State. Colorado has had some luck this year with who they have played: the got Sam Darnold earlier in the season (still lost), they missed Josh Rosen due to injury, and the quarterbacks in all their other games? Not exactly an inspiring list other than Michigan's Wilton Speight.
Washington State has actually had a nice, balanced attack under Mike Leach here, and they have a real shot at making noise in the Pac-12.
No. 11 Oklahoma State
Nov. 19 at TCU
This one is actually very weird because TCU is actually favored in this game... but why against a team that is ranked No. 11 in the nation?
Oklahoma State has the No. 13 ranked scoring offense in college football at 41 points per game, which is very good. However, they are giving up nearly 30 points per game at the same time. A team like TCU that can play that almost exact same game has the potential to give Oklahoma State a lot of problems, especially on the road.
