Sports Illustrated's Bruce Feldman names his four Playoff teams, 2017 national champion

No USC for the Playoffs?

It is prediction time in the world of college football, with the kick-off to the 2017 season less than two weeks away for a handful of programs. With that in mind, Bruce Feldman of Sports Illustrated was a guest on Wednesday's edition of The Ryen Russillo Show on ESPN and he unveiled his selections for the College Football Playoff.

In the end, the respected college football voice went with a quartet of Alabama, Florida State, Ohio State and Washington. In addition, Feldman chose Urban Meyer and the Buckeyes to claim the ultimate glory in the form of a national title.

In short, none of this is terribly surprising. Alabama, Ohio State and Florida State have emerged as "consensus" picks to reach the playoff this season and, even if every expert doesn't include all three programs, it is almost a shock if they don't. The inclusion of Washington is the outlier but the Huskies put together a very strong season a year ago behind Jake Browning and, while Washington lost quite a bit of talent, it wouldn't blow anyone away if the team emerged as Pac-12 champions this season.

It is rare that anyone nails all four CFP teams but Bruce Feldman gave it a shot and he won't be the last pundit to do so.
