Five-star recruit Cam Akers (5-foot-11, 213 pounds, Clinton, Miss.) is set to announce his commitment on Dec. 27, and the nation’s No. 1 running back per 247Sports is likely set to choose between LSU, Florida State, and Ole Miss.

On Christmas Eve, Akers may have made a major hint about where he plans to go.

The replies to that tweet set off a storm for Ole Miss fans on Twitter, as it is not a secret that Akers’ mother wants him to stay in-state and head to Oxford.

If that is the decision that Akers is set to make, it would be an enormous recruiting victory for Hugh Freeze, who has made a habit out of getting a couple of five-star recruits in recent years. It would be even more vital this season, as the Rebels have fallen behind this year with only 13 commitments for 2017 so far.
