Pac 12 grad transfer makes move to another powerhouse across the country

This is a huge addition for this school.

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish may not have had the 2016-17 season that they would have liked going 4-8, but the 2017-18 Brian Kelly-coached squad is looking better and better and now we've learned that Arizona State grad transfer Cameron Smith is making the move to South Bend, IN.

Notre Dame revealed the big-time news on the team's Twitter account Monday afternoon.

Here's the tweet below:

Smith has a history with Notre Dame, having played the team two times already in his career, which is perhaps part of the reason the Fighting Irish were interested in bringing him in. The 4.4 speed doesn't hurt, either.

With a new offensive coordinator in place, the Fighting Irish need all the help they can get along with the fact the team needs a big season to make up for last season's disappointing 4-8 campaign.

Smith reeled in 11 receptions for 183 yards for Arizona State last season.
