6'6" OT Cameron Wire spurns recent offers from Alabama, FSU with commitment

Wire has a lot of potential at his size.

Despite recent pushes from Alabama and Florida State, it looks like three-star offensive tackle Cameron Wire (6-foot-6, 271 pounds, Gonzales, La.) is making a decision to go elsewhere.

On Wednesday, Wire announced that he was taking the next step in his recruitment by committing to LSU.

"I started working harder and harder to turn dreams into reality," Wire said in his statement on Twitter. "And today I finally get a chance to make a dream come true. With that said I am committing to Louisiana State University."

While only rated a three-star, Wire is starting to shoot up recruiting boards, and his offers from Alabama, LSU, Ole Miss and Florida State over the past month are proof positive of that. His frame is his biggest selling point right now, and the potential for him once he gets in a college weight room is tantalizing prospect.

With Wire, LSU now has 17 commitments for their 2018 class, which is the most in the country. Their class ranks third in the nation over at 247Sports.
