Cardale Jones has an awkward throwing form that may hold him back in the NFL

Are Cardale's throwing mechanics going to cost him in the NFL?

Jon Gruden's QB Camps are underway on ESPN ahead of the NFL Draft, and one of Gruden's guests is the enigmatic Cardale Jones. Jones, who led Ohio State to a national title in the 2014-15 College Football Playoff, is currently a giant question mark as a draft pick, as many teams have questions about his lackluster 2015-16 season.

Well, those same teams might have bigger questions about Cadale's throwing form, as the quarterback talked with Gruden about how he does not use the laces when throwing a football.

This is certainly an interesting combination, as Jones is touted for the power in his throwing arm. It is also funny that Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer was initially driven nuts by Cardale's throwing mechanics, yet those same awkward mechanics helped win him a national title.

Will this hurt or help Cardale at the next level? What piqued my interest is that Cardale says he learned the technique through a drill designed to help him get the ball out as quickly as possible. This could be a trait that some teams might find useful, but other potentially not useful enough if Cardale cannot throw the ball accurately.

I guess we will see how teams feel about it when the NFL Draft occurs on April 28-30.
