Entering the season, San Diego State running back Donnell Pumphrey ranked 75th all-time in career rushing yards in college football. Halfway through the season, Pumphrey has already jumped up to 10th on the list.

Through six games, Pumphrey has rushed for 1,111 yards and 11 touchdowns, and the senior back now has 5,383 yards in his career.
Pumphrey has surpassed several impressive names on the all-time rushing list this season, including Darren McFadden, Marcus Allen, Bo Jackson and fellow Aztec Marshall Faulk.
Pumphrey is less than 2,000 yards behind Ron Dayne, who is first all-time with 7,125 yards.
Several high profile running backs such as Christian McCaffrey and Leonard Fournette haven't had the seasons pundits expected them to have, so Pumphrey could be in line for a Heisman invite if he maintains his current pace.
