Latest College Football Playoff prediction has potential same season rematch of super powers

Will it actually happen in the end?

We have officially reached peak offseason as there are already people trying to predict the College Football Playoffs and the bowl games preceding it. Sporting News has done just that with every single bowl game and even predicting the winners of the two New Year's Day bowl games to decide who plays for the national title.

The publication has Ohio State, Alabama, Florida State and USC making the final four. This could mean a rematch of a game played in the first week of the season as the Crimson Tide and Seminoles are set to meet in the new Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta for their showdown. While SN has USC beating FSU in Rose Bowl, they do have Alabama beating Ohio State (again) in the Sugar Bowl. Should FSU actually pull off the "upset", then we would have the rematch of our and ESPN's dreams.

All four of those teams are ranked in the top ten by most outlets in the preseason and are expected to have great seasons so it makes for them to be in the final four right now. Barring any serious upset or blowouts at the beginning of the season, all of those teams can expect to make this prediction come true or at the very least, end up in a New Year's Six bowl.
