One of the top players from the 2016 recruiting class is already back on the market.

On Wednesday night, LSU defensive back Saivion Smith announced that he would be transferring from LSU.

"It has been an honor and a privilege to put on the purple and gold, especially in front of the greatest fans in the country," Smith said on Twitter. "I will forever cherish my time at LSU."

Smith appeared in 10 games for LSU in 2016, mostly as a reserve. He recorded four total tackles and two pass break ups as a cornerback.

Smith, rated a five-star in high school by Scout, originally picked LSU over Florida State, Clemson, and Florida, among others.
