ESPN producer acknowledges the one school that turned down hosting College GameDay

ESPN produces reveals the one school that declined a visit from College GameDay.

College GameDay is one of the most popular programs on ESPN, and they've visited dozens of campuses across the country over the last two-plus decades.

College GameDay senior coordinating producer Lee Fitting and ESPN reporter Tom Rinaldi conducted a Q-and-A session, and Fitting revealed the one school to turn down College GameDay.

Fitting said Cal turned the show down several years ago. He didn't say which year, but he did say the school has told them they are welcomed back anytime and he hopes they can visit Cal in the future.

Fitting also revealed how the GameDay site is selected each week.

Cal hasn't been good enough to warrant a GameDay appearance in several years, but they probably won't turn them down the next time the program wants to visit Berkeley.
