Four-star ATH Trey Lowe announces Playoff caliber commitment

Trey Lowe will be spending his college career in an interesting locale.

Chris Petersen and the Washington Huskies already picked up a highly important commitment for the 2018 class in the form of five-star quarterback Jacob Sirmon. On Wednesday, the staff kept that momentum going with a less-heralded but potentially impactful commitment from four-star athlete prospect Trey Lowe.

247Sports ranks Lowe as the No. 4 athlete prospect in the country and the 5'9, 174-pound prospect comes in at No. 107 overall in the 2018 class. It remains to be seen as to where Lowe will end up spending his college career from a positional standpoint but it appears that he has his mind set on offense given the reaction provided to Steve Wiltfong of 247Sports after the commitment was announced.

"It has been my dream school since I was in eighth grade. And I already knew (new offensive coordinator Matt) Lubick before he got hired so it was the perfect situation."

Lowe, who is also the younger brother of former Oregon wide receiver Keanon Lowe, is incredibly quick and has displayed real burst with the ball in his hands. That, of course, will need to continue given his relatively small stature, but Washington has enjoyed great success with athletes in a similar mold in recent years and the Huskies can be trusted to maximize his talents in the future. In the end, this is a very big pick-up for Washington.
