Four-star DT DeMarvin Leal has two major powerhouses pushing for him the most early on

Woo boy.

DeMarvin Leal is one of the top defensive prospects in the 2019 recruiting class, and considering the fact that he's from the Longhorn state, is it any surprise that Texas and Texas A&M are going the hardest after his commitment?

That's just an expectation down in Texas, and Leal likes what he's hearing from both programs.

E.J. Holland of 247Sports passed on Leal's thoughts on Texas in particular. For Texas and head coach Tom Herman, it looks like the atmosphere of Texas football is a big deal right now. He's also impressed with what he's seen from Texas football's facilities:

"They have a good atmosphere," Leal said. "It's a family environment. The coaching staff is fun. They put the players first. That's great. I was shook when I saw the new facilities."

The bad news for Texas is that Leal is obviously looking to see some production from the Longhorns in the win-loss column. The Longhorns were ranked in the AP Top 25 to start the season but have already disappointed a bit. They lost to Maryland at home 51-41 to start the 2017 season. Leal is looking for wins, so the pressure is on for Herman and his team.

"I would like to see them winning a lot of games," Leal said. "I would also like to see their defensive line do well because that would make me feel better."

Ironically enough, Texas A&M also lost its first game of the season, so perhaps the pitch for both programs is that Leal can be the guy to help turn things around.

According to 247Sports, Leal is the No. 7 defensive tackle recruit in the 2019 class. He's also the No. 14 recruit in-state for both the Longhorns and Aggies.
