Jameis Winston has reportedly reached a settlement with alleged rape victim

The originally investigations took place in 2012-13.

According to TMZ, Jameis Winston has reached a settlement with the woman that accused him of rape back in 2012.

Winston and the woman, publicly identified as Erica Kinsman, will reportedly file for joint-dismissal of Kinsman's civil lawsuit against Winston over allegations of sexual assault. Other details of the settlement are not known.

Kinsman's original complaint against Winston dates back to December of 2012, which was originally investigation and dismissed by police. 11 months later, a Florida State Attorney reopened the investigation after allegations of police misconduct. This investigation was also closed just weeks later, with the State Attorney citing issues with Kinsman's allegations.

Winston was never charged for any crime, but Kinsman did file suit against both Winston and Florida State. Kinsman was already awarded a $950,000 settlement in her suit against the University.

Winston played through the controversy at the time, leading Florida State to an undefeated year and a national championship in the 2013-14 season. Winston was later selected with the No. 1 pick in the 2015 NFL Draft.
