FSU legacy and commit James Cook down to two schools despite already making commitment

We are getting closer to something here.

James Cook is the younger brother legendary Florida State running back Dalvin Cook and he's been committed to his brother's alma mater since last year. However, he's still been dropping top school lists and now he's eliminated six from his top eight to get down to two (because that's how math works apparently).

He spoke to 247Sports about who he likes right now and despite a commitment to the Seminoles, there is some serious flipping vibes coming from the interview. He said he's down to Georgia and FSU now and mentioned that he's been to Athens twice this summer while he hasn't been to Tallahassee since last year. He also said that all the running backs leaving Georgia after this season appeals to him.

"Everybody is leaving UGA, so it is open. I would start as a freshman," Cook said. "Zamir White, we would be thunder and lightning."

He also told SEC Country that the race between FSU and UGA is pretty intense. "It's equal. I'm not sure yet when I'm going to make my decision, but I want to at the end of the season."

The 5'11", 181-pound back plans on enrolling early so a December decision is likely to come from him after his senior season. Cook is ranked as the No. 3 running back in the entire country and the No. 6 recruit in the state of Florida according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings.

The Miami native also has offers from Oregon, Miami, Ole Miss, Michigan, USC and Alabama as well as several others.

Here are some of his highlights:
