Jimbo Fisher might have just thrown several of his players under the bus

Florida State is 5-3 on the season.

Jimbo Fisher doesn't often mince words, and he may have — rightfully — criticized one position group in a recent interview.

Fisher has had nothing but praise recently for freshman quarterback Deondre Francois, and the young quarterback has been very deserving of that praise. He has played well for a freshman, and even better when you consider how many hits he has taken this year.

How much has Francois been hit? Fisher said he's never seen one of his quarterbacks get hit so much.

From 247Sports:

"It's weird because I've never had [a quarterback] take quite as many [physical shots]," Fisher said. "...We've been very blessed to have tremendous competitors as our leaders . And Deondre is right up there with any of them as far as that goes. With any of them."

Considering that Fisher has been a quarterbacks coach or head coach for almost 30 years now, that is quite the indictment of the Seminole offensive line. Whether or not Fisher meant to take a shot at his offensive line or not doesn't matter; their performance is worth noting when talking about Francois's own exploits this year.

At the very least, Fisher has deflected blame for his offensive line in the past, saying that the mistakes eventually come down to coaching.

"It's on coaches, it's on us."

Florida State is currently 5-3 on the season, which Francois taking hits in almost every major game. This could get worse before the end of the season, too, as the Seminoles still have to play a very tenacious Florida Gators defense before everything is finished.
