Kirk Herbstreit surprisingly apologizes for ESPN College GameDay pick

Herby is apologizing?!?!

Being a college football pundit is hard work. You're asked to give your predictions on games every weekend, and either you're right or you're wrong. There's no in-between, and no matter which way you choose, somebody is going to be mad at you.

That's what Kirk Herbstreit is running into after he revealed his pick for the Oregon vs. Nebraska game on College Gameday. The game was in Oregon and the Ducks were coming off a 72-21 stomping of Southern Utah. Nebraska, on the other-hand, barely squeaked by Arkansas State, winning 43-36 in a game way closer than it should have been.

Realistically, Oregon was the smart choice here for a guy like Herbstreit. Nebraska had to travel halfway across the country and Autzen Stadium is not an easy place to play in either.

Still, that didn't stop Herby from picking the Cornhuskers to win the game, proof of which can be seen below:

Desmond Howard and Lee Corso have to be feeling good about their picks at this point. Herbstreit on the other hand, has decided to apologize for not believing in the Ducks.

At halftime, Oregon led 42-14. Nebraska made a late comeback, but couldn't complete it and lost, 42-35.
