Count ESPN’s Kirk Herbstreit among those who doesn’t think the College Football Playoff committee got it quite right on Tuesday.

Herbstreit was on the 30-minute show on Tuesday when the rankings were unveiled, but he didn’t get a ton of talking time thanks to the rankings being slightly rushed this week. Herbstreit did, however, gift us with his own Top 4 ahead of the rankings show, and his was slightly different than the committee’s.

Herbstreit has Alabama and Ohio State as Nos. 1 and 2, but at Nos. 3 and 4 in the rankings? Louisville and then Clemson.

Crazy, huh?

Louisville does have a lot of support following losses in Week 11 by Michigan, Clemson, and Washington, but Herbstreit giving the Cardinals the slight edge over Clemson here is a bold move. Also, completely snubbing the Wolverines? Ouch!
