Laquon Treadwell says this cornerback was the toughest he faced in college

This might not be the first name that comes to mind.

The 2016 NFL Scouting Combine is underway in Indianapolis, and a number of former collegiate stars will be trying to make their NFL dreams a reality over the weekend. Former Ole Miss wide receiver Laquon Treadwell, who's made headlines for choosing to not run the 40-yard dash, is making some waves again but this time about defensive players he's faced.

Treadwell, who caught 202 receptions for 2,393 yards and 21 touchdowns during his career in Oxford, was asked on Thursday in Indy who the best cornerback was who he faced while he in college. He responded by saying "the Florida corner" and then added that he didn't mean All-American cornerback Vernon Hargreaves III, but rather "the younger one" meaning rising junior cornerback Jalen Tabor.

Chris Burke of Sports Illustrated tweeted, then deleted Treadwell's quote, and Burke then clarified that Treadwell didn't necessarily mean it as a knock against Hargreaves. A cached copy and paste version of Treadwell's quote from Burke is below.

"Laquon Treadwell asked to name the best DBs he faced. First answer: "The Florida corner. Not Vernon Hargreaves, the younger guy (Tabor)."

Hargreaves, who is also in this year's NFL Draft after forgoing his senior season last December, is considered to be the best corner in this year's draft, and potentially could be one of the best NFL corners we have seen. Tabor on the other hand is a rising junior, but he's seen playing time since his true freshman year in 2014. Hargreaves and Tabor finished last season with 4 interceptions each, and Tabor had seven more (40) total tackles than Hargreaves. Given Treadwell's talent as a wideout, the compliment given to Tabor pretty high praise.
