LeBron James hooks up Ohio State with gifts before National Championship game

LeBron James will be tuned in Monday night when the Ohio State Buckeyes take on the Oregon Ducks in the National Championship game, and there's really no question on where his allegiance lies.

Proud of his favorite college team, James reportedly helped facilitate a relationship between the Buckeyes and Beats by Dre, the headphone manufacturer, to provide the team with free headphones.

According to ESPN, it is not an NCAA violation:

"LeBron helped facilitate the connection with Beats by Dre," the spokesman said. "The headphones were donated to Ohio State and were distributed within permissible NCAA limitations on awards."

The report also notes that teams are allowed to give $400 worth of gifts to those who make the National Championship game. The cost, which is estimated at wholesale for $175, will be deducted from that amount. The Pac-12 also awarded Oregon players with a set of these headphones.
