Louisville transfer Shaquille Wiggins reportedly taking surprise visit despite commitment

Things definitely just got interesting.

Few players at the high-major level of college football bounce from program to program like Shaq Wiggins. The former Georgia Bulldogs defensive back followed his former defensive coordinator Todd Grantham to Louisville and since then, Wiggins decided to transfer to Tennessee just a few weeks ago.

Now, though, a potential hiccup has occurred to the point where Wiggins could be back on the market according to one report.

It is (very) important to note that this is not a full-blown story until further confirmation comes to light but it does make sense to some degree. Wiggins, who is a wildly talented player, would certainly be a target of other programs until the last possible moment. Beyond that, Grantham is not coincidentally the defensive coordinator at Mississippi State for 2017 and that relationship is well documented.

At this point, Wiggins is officially committed to join the Volunteers in Knoxville. However, news surfacing in this fashion cannot be received well by the Tennessee coaching staff and this is a situation worth monitoring in the future if there is any more fire to pair with the smoke.

The program that ultimately lands Shaq Wiggins will be very happy, but until he enrolls anything can happen.
